Annual Conference-The GRC's Annual Conference and Membership Meeting provides members with networking opportunities, educational sessions on varied topics, a markets panel, interaction with industry vendors via exhibits, and updates on progress, successes, and challenges in waste reduction and recycling efforts. The "Trash to Treasures" auction is a popular feature of this conference.
Semi-Annual Membership Meeting-On a smaller scale than the annual conference, this meeting allows us to focus on pertinent issues or areas as defined by the needs of our members. It is a one and one half day meeting featuring speakers on topics including new technology, market trends, and legislation.
Communications-The GRC publishes a quarterly newsletter and a monthly electronic newsletter, maintains a website and has a member discussion forum, providing members with an email communications system for sharing of knowledge and resources, as well as quick updates on GRC activities.
Councils-The GRC is involved in an ongoing process of developing special interest group councils for commodity groups, recycling coordinators, military bases, colleges and universities as well as others based on the needs of our members.

In 2008, we completed installation of our solar paneling with of Marietta, Georgia. Thus far it has diverted nearly 9,000 pounds of CO2 from being consumed. This is the equivalent of taking 8+ cars off the road each year! The system produces 145 kWh of clean and renewable energy each month. We also participated in the 2008 National Solar Tour with .
The Gardens at Kennesaw Mountain operates low-flow sinks and other water saving devices in an effort to reduce water consumption. Our renovated kitchen will feature energy efficient applicances and lighting. The Gardens has also started a recycling program with the help of .
Our most recent venture is with Closed Loop Organics. The company provides a service to take all "organic" materials for composting. This, along with recycling, virtually eliminates all waste that goes to landfills, ensuring a limited impact on our environment and resources.
We have a full line of plates, utensils, cups and sandwich boxes that are bio-degradable and compostable.
