Georgia Interfaith Power & Light and SoutheastGreen.com to host Greening Your Facilities

Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL) and SoutheastGreen.com announced today that they will be hosting a Greening Your Facilities conference on March 20, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 308 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. Doors will open at 9:00 AM. The conference is an opportunity for any and all congregational leadership to learn ways to make their facilities more energy efficient and sustainable. This is a non-denominational event, all faith practices are welcome. Lunch will be served and the cost is $15 per person.
Speakers and topics include: Defining your baseline-What is your congregation’s carbon footprint, Safe playgrounds and Alternative Energy Options, Energy Savings and Cooperative Energy Initiatives, and Missions with a Green and Sustainable Message. There will also be a presentation on a Solar Panel Case Study by Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta; the first faith community to install solar panels in the Southeast.
