Don Francis, Clean Cities AtlantaClean Cities of Atlanta, City of Atlanta, Environmental Protection Agency, Center for Transportation and the Environment and Delta Ground Support Equipment department all gathered on May 13 to announce the completion of the retrofit of existing baggage handlers from diesel to electricity. The sum total of environmental gains is quite impressive but more importantly it is another step for a US company to become less dependent on foreign oil. DeKalb Green Expo - Commissioner Lee May, DeKalb County District 5Commissioner Kathie Gannon hosted the annual Green Expo at Georgia Perimeter College. Attendees heard lectures on gardening and energy efficiency and attended the Expo which had over 40 vendors participate. With over 150 in attendance the Expo once again underlined DeKalb County's commitment to sustainability. Southeast Green caught up with Commissioner Lee May to discuss that commitment.

Dr. Rob Schreiner - Kaiser Permanente, EarthShare of Georgia 2013

Dr. Rob Shriner - Kaiser PermanenteEarthShare of Georgia hosted it's annual Earth Day Leadership Breakfast on April 19th. Hosting the who's who of Environmental Non-Profits, Atlanta's Corporate Sustainability Leaders and the Atlanta Sustainability Community, the breakfast announced it's annual award winners and featured Bruce Karas of Coca-Cola as the keynote speaker. Kaiser Permanente both presenting sponsor and winner had a full cadre of leaders in attendance. Southeast Green caught up with Dr. Rob Schreiner who shared with us all the sustainability initiatives at Kaiser and his neighborhood recycling competition.
