Atlanta Recycles along with the Georgia Recycling Coalition, City of Atlanta, USGBC Georgia, and BOMA Georgia hosted the kick-off event for the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge addition of recycling to the program. Atlanta has long been the leader of the national challenge and has pushed to add water conservation and recycling to the program making it more dynamic and holistic for sustainability purposes.

The program included several speakers including the EPA and Keep America Beautiful. Southeast Green caught up with Keep America Beautiful's Brenda Pulley to discuss the event and the latest article from the New York Times about the failure of recycling in America.
