Winyah Rivers Foundation and the Waccamaw RIVERKEEPER® program invite you to participate in their 2017 Photography Contest! Entries will be accepted February 11th through April 21st 2017. The contest is open to everyone and emphasis in judging will be given to photographs that show the splendor and charm of our local rivers and ecosystems.  This contest gives us an opportunity to highlight the natural beauty of our Winyah Bay and its spectacular rivers while raising support for Winyah Rivers Foundation and its mission to protect clean water.

There are four categories: Wildlife, Scenic, Hurricane/ Flood and Georgetown County. You may enter as many photographs as you would like. There is a $10.00 fee for each entry. Best of Show will receive a cash prize of $150 and 1st Place winners in each category will receive a cash prize of $100.00.  2nd & 3rd place winners will also be recognized.

This year we are going completely digital (website-based entry submission) which allows an exciting new feature to be added to this year’s event.  All photo entries will be available on our website’s gallery for a Viewers’ Vote.  Anyone and everyone can be a judge by casting their vote (accompanied by a $1 donation) to help their favorite photo to be named the “Viewer’s Vote” winner.  Voting closes on May 4th and all winners will be announced at a reception at the Burroughs-Chapin Art Museum on Friday, May 5th from 5:30pm-7:00pm.  Winners are eligible for only one prize.  Winning photographs will hang in the Museum, followed by the Horry County Courthouse and other venues throughout the region. Winners will be allowed to purchase their enlarged photo made by 803 LABS after their tour.

All entries must be received by NOON on April 21st 2017. To learn more on how to enter, please visit our website at Contest Sponsors include: Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation, 803 LABS, Inc., Burroughs and Chapin Art Museum. Secondary sponsors: The Horry Independent, Waccamaw Outdoors.
