Leading natural gas provider rises from 2016 ranking
Gas South has been named one of the Top Workplaces in Atlanta for the second consecutive year. The natural gas provider climbed 10 spots from its 2016 ranking – landing at #30 among midsize companies in the independent employee survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics and hosted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Recognition as a top workplace is a direct reflection of the talented team that I have the privilege of working with each day,” said Kevin Greiner, Gas South president and CEO. “Our success has been possible because of their hard work, commitment and integrity, and in return, we strive to provide a work environment that empowers them and celebrates their contributions.”
In the past year, Gas South has enhanced its benefits packages, added telecommuting and flexible scheduling options, improved interoffice communications, revamped its learning management system and refined its health and wellness program. Additionally, Gas South introduced a $15 minimum wage for all employees – resulting in pay increases for approximately 25 percent of the company’s workforce.
More than 1,200 companies were nominated or asked to participate in the 2017 Top Workplaces search. Workplace Dynamics then surveyed 245 metro companies that agreed to participate. More than 50,000 metro workers completed the survey to help determine the resulting top 150 list, which consists of 25 large companies, 50 midsize companies and 75 small companies.
