The SGS program will target the 98% of all businesses that are under 500 employees and $1 billion in revenues; and have previously not had a sustainability certification program available to them.
"The problem has always been that developing a sustainability program has been costly and time-consuming, thus reserved for Fortune 500 firms. Additionally, finding a world-wide certification program was simply impossible. We've changed that; bringing sustainability planning AND certification to the small/medium-sized business," said Goodman. "The sustainability savings will more than pay for the program for the company, and once certified, the company can then promote itself as distinctive from its competition, thus generating the previously mentioned revenue-side and operational benefits."
SGS has contracted the non-profit organization, Plan for a Better Environment (Plan BE), which is endorsed by the US Green Chamber of Commerce, to train the SGS franchisees to be certified sustainability advisors. The SGS franchisee will then chair the client company's sustainability committee and lead the sustainability program execution, allowing the client to gain the benefits of the program without having to commit significant staff time.
SuperGreen Solutions now has the only Plan for a Better Environment certified advisors in the world. "I am excited that SuperGreen Solutions has committed to have its franchisees become Plan BE certified advisors and that it is taking the lead, worldwide, in bringing this valuable service to the business community," said Missy Trumpler, president and CEO of Plan for a Better Environment.
