GMO OMG is a documentary about Genetically Modified Organisms in the United States and how unaware most Americans are about how their food is grown and what is in their food. A father discovers GMOs in relationship to his children and the world around him. He attempts interviews with some of the biggest GMO producing companies as well as with farmers of both GMO and organic crops. HIs quest is a scary reality.
The simple act of feeding ourselves has made us participants in the largest food experiment ever conducted. We unknowingly consume genetically engineered food, making us lab rats to big companies. The risks and effects that GMO food causes to our health and the environment are largely unknown but more and more research is being presented to prove the harmful effects of GMOs to us and our world. There are additional hidden risks because we don’t consider the food chain reaction, such as the cows that eat GMO corn feed and therefore, we also consume that same GMO corn.
It is time that we took action on a personal level and commit to a more organic and sustainable food-style. By starting with yourself and your family, it can grow into a community wide protest, state legislature and more. After all, many other countries already prohibit GMO foods. If we act now, we can save our health and our environment by buying organic and GMO-free foods.
