On Saturday, March 21, ACE's President and CEO, Grace Fricks, introduced Georgia Green Loans to the conferees that had gathered at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, for the 12th annual Georgia Organics conference.
Speaking to an audience of organic farmers, Grace talked about this new ACE initiative in one of the conference's workshops, after which she and other ACE staff talked with attendees one-on-one, to learn of their personal interests and how Georgia Green Loans may meet their needs.
This was a sold-out conference and very successful for ACE. And it could not have come at a better time, just as President and Mrs. Obama were announcing the establishment of an organic vegetable garden on the White House grounds.
Saturday evening, 1,100 people attended the keynote speech by Michael Pollan, Knight Professor of Journalism at the University of California, and the author, most recently, of "In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto."
